Part i

We use mirror for copying weekly released structures from the PDB at RCSB.
This tool synchronizes your local installation of structures with the ones available on the ftp server at RCSB. The files are copied over if not already installed locally and renamed to a filename consisting of the four-letter PDB structure code plus ".pdb". The files remain compressed.

Mirror needs this parameter file: pdbmirror.txt
Read it and adapt it to your needs following the instructions given in the file.

You can always test the correct installation of mirror by issuing the command:
mirror -n -d pdbmirror.txt
