Information stored in the Protein DataBank (PDB) is heterogenuous and of variable quality. But the reliable extraction of information from it can become critical in applications like Homology Modeling.

PDBChainSaw aims at providing these services:

i) mirror structures released by RCSB
ii) extract commonly used information from PDB files and store it in a relational database
iii) derive the "best" possible amino acid sequence from atomic co-ordinates only


Before you install the different scripts provided above make sure you meet the minimum requirements as following:
- Linux based system (or other Unix)
- you have an Installation of the GNUstep basic libraries
- have a spare disk with at least 2.5 GB free space
